By providing aid, support and intervention, and liaising closely with professionals giving treatment, Outreach Workers help individuals achieve and maintain greater stability and better health.

Outreach staff work out of the Downtown Shelter and Drop-In. Their case loads vary between 35 - 40 people per staff. Statistics show Outreach workers have an average of 56 contacts per day, ranging up to 90, keeping them very busy!

Another comparison is that the 33% return rate for the Downtown Emergency Shelter clientele is reduced by Outreach involvement. Preliminary data shows that only 8% of Outreach people return to emergency accommodation. This reflects what case reviews indicate; an increased satisfaction with the person’s quality of life.
