Aug. 28 – A warning from the Fraser Health Authority:
A blue-hued substance is being sold as heroin in Surrey. The colour intensifies when mixed with water and then clears when heated.
Symptoms include confusion, sedation, lethargy and memory loss. Remind people to be careful where and with whom they use this product, as its use could increase vulnerability to theft, abuse or attack. Encourage discussions around safety plans and ways to decrease their risk.
If you hear more about this blue ‘heroin’, including finding it outside of Surrey, please advise Erin Gibson, Fraser Health Harm Reduction Coordinator at Erin.Gibson@fraserhealth.ca.
