Volunteering at the Lookout is a satisfying way to give back. Our volunteers get a chance to see the direct results of their volunteer work and commitment. For many, it can be an eye-opening experience to see how homelessness doesn’t discriminate and can affect anyone, regardless of background.

Your Support Means So Much

As a non-profit organization, Lookout staff understand the importance of support from the communities we serve. We could not provide the best service and reach as many guests as we can without the tremendous support from so many volunteers. We operate with minimal staffing wherever possible so we can prioritize our budget to vital programs supporting housing and health initiatives. Volunteers play a critical role in our services and supports to people in need.

Thank you to the thousands of volunteers who help us each year by donating their time, energy and goodwill. Volunteers like you help us support vulnerable people living throughout the Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island region.


To Apply as a volunteer please complete the following steps:

The Volunteer Coordinator will then match you to available volunteer jobs.

Please note that while immediate placements may be possible, some tasks are seasonal and there may be a waiting period before you are asked to volunteer.

Volunteer groups also participate in volunteer activities with Lookout. Some possible tasks include:

Spring Cleaning

Painting (walls)

Landscape and garden cleanup

Seasonal decorating

Preparation of meal service

Special events
