Lee King has 20 years with CMHC across BC/Yukon, delivering affordable housing projects, municipal infrastructure, and multifamily-insured lending for new build condos and rentals. As a director for Lookout Housing and Health BC, he is responsible for developing and managing housing and healthcare projects, working with communities, local governments, crowns, First Nations, health regions, and regulators.
He has experience developing project proposals, managing project openings and liaising with BC MPs/MLA’s/Mayors, industry, business media, First Nations, health authorities, nonprofits, and other stakeholders across BC. By collaborating with VIHA Island Health, Lee project managed long-term residences and acute facilities worth more than $75 million, including the $712 million North Island Hospitals Project, which brought two new acute care campuses to Campbell River and Comox, British Columbia. In Central Okanagan BC, he worked with industry, government, and indigenous groups on urgent care centers and change management initiatives for Interior Health Authority. Formerly, Lee chaired the CRD’s Housing Action Team HAT and served on Habitat for Humanity, AHMA BC, and municipal housing panels.
Currently, he chairs the Our Place Society cabinet in Victoria BC. He envisions new partnerships for BC First Nations, nonprofits, industry and government to bring new housing, healthcare, and mixed-use product to market more affordably to meet rising demand. As well as working closely with community, Lee also enjoys running, cycling, and skiing, but not all at once.
