Many of our clients live independently but our aided by our tenant support or outreach workers.

Established in 1971, the Lookout Society outreach program provided short-term bridging and follow-up services to an ever growing number of people. These are often people who are repeatedly in emergency situations. This also includes special support to hotels providing accommodation to Lookout clientele able to live more independently than the supportive/2nd stage housing program.

By providing aid, support and intervention and liaising closely with professionals giving treatment, outreach workers help individuals achieve and maintain greater stability and better health.

Spending 15,341 hours overall, outreach teams served 3,940 unique individuals this past year. Some dramatic changes were noticed in 2013-2014, such as the number of HIV-infected individuals (197% increase over the previous year), those served with physical disabilities (169% increase) and the number of people we helped who receive pensions (237% increase).
