Between November 1 and March 31 of each winter the Extreme Weather Response program enables communities to temporarily increase the number of emergency shelter beds during extreme conditions that threaten the safety and health of homeless individuals. Lookout and other service providers will open Extreme Weather Response shelters, usually near year-round shelters. To find out about which of these shelters is open, please contact the Lookout shelter closest to you, or check the BC Housing shelter map
